The chimes from the clock in the hallway made it known it was seven thirty in the morning. Young Master Ciel Phantomhive was laying in his grand bed, under mounds of luxurious silk blankets. He covered his mouth in proper etiquette as he yawned and sat up in the bed. Down the hall walked a tall, and dark mysterious man. He approached the door, which behind held the young Master. Turning the handle, in walked the stranger, and greeted the young boy with a devilish grin, and a wink.

"Good morning Young Master…sleep well I hope?"

It was Sebastian Michaelis, Ciel's dutiful and extremely protective butler. He walked into the room with a calm demeanor and pulled back the shades in the room letting in sunlight. The child, who's parents were killed, and his home set on fire had somewhat of an off start to the tragedy that was bestowed upon him. To this day, he is known to be a very reserved child, emotionless and have superior intelligence far beyond a child of his age, of twelve. He looked up at the butler with no expression and responded.

"Yes Sebastian…might I ask…is my schedule full today? Who might I be meeting with?" The boy cast aside the covers and flipped his legs aside. His butler walked over to the wardrobe and picked out a deep purple suit jacket, with shorts, knee highs, and Mary Jane shoes.

"My Lord…you are meeting with your Uncle Clause at noon today. Please stand up so that I may fit your jacket, and adjust your shorts. There's a good lad. After the meeting I shall have a wondrous lunch prepared, and I believe the suit that your aunt had bought you is ready at the tailor, so I shall accompany you into town to pick it up." Sebastian buttoned the jacket, and buckled the straps on the shoes. Ciel cleared his throat, and the demon looked up.

"Sebastian…do I still have to have my violin lesson then?" The boy asked quietly. He was cultured in just about everything, but playing the violin was something he felt would never amount to anything. Still though, it had its perks for him to be well educated in fine arts, music, and different languages. He did not like to get on with his lessons, especially since Sebastian saw to it that all his schooling was taught by himself.

"Why Master…such a puerile thing to ask. I will see to it that your lesson takes place after breakfast. I would have hoped you would be most anxious to continue. You are doing very well indeed."

The boy did not say anything in return. There was no use in contradicting Sebastian. Though the Earl controlled the butler in every way, he still had to see reason that he was all but a boy, and education was key. Ciel stood up and walked, having Sebastian follow. They arrived in the dining room. Pulling out the chair for his Master, Ciel sat down and was brought the morning paper. Sebastian waited by his side.

"Breakfast today will consist of Earl Grey tea, a delightful dish of Kedegree and toast with marmalade."

He set the place setting down in front of the Young Master and stepped away. Ciel picked up his utensil and started to consume his food. As he ate, he looked over the paper. Sebastian stood by as usual waiting for the child's beckon call if anything should arise. He looked around the room, it was rather quiet.

"Sebastian…where is everyone?" Said the Earl as he sipped his tea and waited for an answer. Sebastian smiled and spoke in a prominent tone.

"I sent Finnian into the gardens, he was working on a new arrangement with the rock garden. Bardroy is prepping for lunch later, I did tell him to go easy on the spices…I know you did not like the Cheyenne pepper he used on the chicken dish from the previous day. And our Mey-Rin is handling the polishing of the silver…something easy for her, so she doesn't break anything. I suppose that Tanaka is wandering somewhere here."

"I see. Well just make sure they are plenty occupied once Uncle has arrived. I would be most embarrassed if anything were to go wrong." Wiping his mouth, Ciel stood up from the seat, and walked towards the parlor where his lesson would take place.

The other house staff would clean up. Sebastian followed his young master, and in almost a flash, the butler had changed appearance to better suit him for the looks of a tutor. He was now sporting spectacles, a white vest, and pin striped pants, and a delightful ascot. Ciel walked over to the violin, picked it up, and held the instrument in place, beginning to wonder how long today's lessons would be.

He started off with a enchanting piece by Beethoven. Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61. It was most pleasurable on the ears, and Ciel had a way with the instrument to make it sound very pleasing. If he had done well, his lesson would be shorter than usual, but if he did poorly, Sebastian would see to it to continue for a while longer. Once the boy finished, he set down the instrument, but hesitated. Sebastian watched him with a slight grin.

"Very nice Master…you may cease now. As it is still early, we had better go into town now rather than later, as I am sure certain shops are only opened certain times." Ciel nodded and as Sebastian turned from the child, he swung the violin right at the butler's head. Sebastian caught it in two fingers, and smiled turning his head slightly to the boy. "Good show Young Master, but we shouldn't dawdle. Come now."

The boy walked towards the door, as Sebastian stood aside, and glared at him. There wasn't anything that black butler couldn't do. He had always known, and was always ready. Ciel walked down the hall, as Sebastian trailed behind him. The two arrived outside, and Sebastian helped the Young Lord into the carriage, and closed the door. Walking around to the front, Sebastian took the horses hitch and clicked his tongue together, making the tame beasts whinny and then they were off. The ride into town uneventful. Ciel looked out the window as he stroked his blue diamond ring that he wore on his thumb. So many things went through his mind…and most of the time, he did not care to bring anything up from the past, since it was now two years ago. Blinking steadily as to keep himself awake, the carriage suddenly stopped. The door opened and there stood Sebastian in front of the tailor shop. He helped the boy out, and the two walked in. The shop keeper, a portly elder woman named Miss Hadley. She smiled as the two walked up to the counter.

"Hello gentlemen…how may I be of service?" She looked down at the well dressed child, and then back at the handsome butler. Ciel did not say anything, expecting Sebastian to speak for him.

"Hello good woman…I have here Lord Ciel Phantomhive, and he is here to pick up his garments. A gift from his aunt, Marchioness Frances Middleford. We received telegram that it was ready."

The shop keeper blushed as the handsome butler smiled at her, and nodded she walked over to where the fine suits and other wardrobe were put aside for when customers came to pick up their merchandise. Finding the correct tag, she pulled it out, and walked over to the counter, gently laying the suit down. Eyeing it, she spoke softly.

"What a charming and beautiful suit, and the color…such a nice blue…navy to be exact. I suspects it'll look lovely on you Young Sir. Here you are uh…butler?" She looked at Sebastian, forgetting if she had been told his name. He cleared his throat, and still with a smile, took the garments.

"Why my name is Sebastian…butler to the Phantomhive estate. Thank you very kindly Madame." He took the garments and held them with care. Ciel tipped his hat, and walked out of the shop, with the butler following closely. As he headed to the carriage, Ciel stopped him.

"Sebastian…I am not quite ready to leave…I want to have a look around. I believe we still have time before my Uncle arrives, am I correct?" He looked at the butler, and waited for an answer.

Standing by the carriage door, he had held the door open. Ciel walked away and stood with his arms crossed looking and waiting. Closing the door, Sebastian held the garments, and spoke.

"I humbly apologize my Lord." He looked to his pocket watch. "It is a quarter past nine…I believe we have more than enough time." He bowed, and smiled. Ciel scoffed and walked forward, looking around his surroundings. As the two walked, they passed by a window that sold sweets and toys.

There was a mother and her young son, aged five or six. The mother who was holding the boy's hand walked past the store, but the child, being at a curious age wanted to stop and window browse. The mother nodded her head, and patted him on the head. He was pointing to all the delightful treats before his eyes.

"Mummy…Mummy…look Mummy…there is the wooden solider toy that I want. Mummy please can I have it?" The child pulled on his mother's dress, and jumped up and down. She looked over at him with a slight smile, as he was making quite the scene. Sebastian looked to his Master who was watching.

"Hush now Nathanial…I told you that you may look…your Papa has already bought you something from here not two days ago." She held his hand firmly. "Come along little one, we must hurry along, I have much to do." As she held his hand, he wiggled his hand free and pouted…on the street, with others watching. Ciel stared with amusement.

"No! No Mumma…I want this toy…I want it, I want want want it!" He stamped his little feet, and it seemed like this charade would go on, until the embarrassed mother took him by the arm and roughly pulled him alongside the streets beyond mortified. Little wails were heard from up the street as the two hurriedly walked.

Ciel shook his head, and smirked. Looking up at Sebastian, the tall butler responded to the public display that had just happened.

"My word…what a little devil…" He smiled as his eyes lit up red. Ciel just stayed quiet.

"Come Sebastian…I have had enough, I wish to go home to my mansion. I believe a cup of tea is in order." He turned and walked towards the carriage. Sebastian complied, and the two walked. As they reached the wagon, Sebastian opened the door for his Lord, and before heading in, the boy spoke up. "Sebastian…if I were to ever behave as atrocious as that child had…please I beg of you…take care of the situation." He chuckled as he walked up the steps, and seated himself.

Any order or command that Sebastian was given he held it as a right of the contract the child had signed as death approached him that one dreadful day. From the day forward, anything the child had commanded, Sebastian had no other choice but to follow his orders. Until the day when Ciel's soul left his body, Sebastian was to obey.

"Yes my Master…although I believe you are much too wise to even think of behaving in such a manner." Closing the door, the demon butler laughed to himself. This was indeed a command that he would hold to its fullest.

They arrived back at the mansion and Ciel was helped down by the butler. The little Lord took off his hat, and walked ahead of Sebastian, arriving inside, he turned towards the butler.

"I will be in my study Sebastian…please see that a cup of tea is brought to me, and I want something sweet."

"Ah, but your Uncle is due in an hour, and I have delightful lunch preparations in store you'll ruin your appetite…and…"The boy turned around and glared at the lowly house servant.

"I don't care Sebastian…I want something sweet! Go and make it for me, and I had better not hear anything otherwise." The child stood huffing, and with a look of exasperation, Sebastian replied warmly.

"Yes my Lord." He stood and watched Ciel walk down the hallway, and towards his study. The door slamming behind him.

Sebastian walked down to the kitchen and began with the preparations of the tea. He plunged the tea bags in the precise hot temperature, and began on a scrumptious chocolate sponge cake with a raspberry drizzle. It did not take him long to craft the delectable dessert. As he finished, he heard the bells chime from the study, and set everything on a tray, and put it on the trolley. Grasping the handle, he walked down to where his Young Master waited. Arriving at the door he knocked, and then after a moment walked in.

Ciel was sitting behind his desk writing down something on a parchment. He did not look up as Sebastian walked in, setting the tea, and a slice of the cake down on a table that was beside Ciel's chair. He waited to be noticed, and then looking up, the child put the pen down.

"Well its about time Sebastian…I would not ever hope I have to wait that long again."

"Yes my Master." Said the butler. He stayed by the carts side, and Ciel walked away from his desk, and to the seat, sitting down. Taking the tea into his hands, he sipped it, tasting the strong and pleasant tasting substance that eased his mood.

Looking then to the cake, he set the cup down in its saucer, and Sebastian handed the child the plate of the chocolate cake. Putting the fork to his lips, Ciel made a face, and threw the tender morsel of sweets on the floor, then standing up, he took the remainder of the baked sweet and slammed it on the floor, matching the already destroyed piece.

"Sebastian! I told you in the past I DO NOT enjoy raspberry…why did you make this horrid dessert that holds no pleasure!" He had nothing but daggers for the butler who stood staring back at the boy. "Go into the kitchen and make me something else…NOW!" Turning around, Ciel went to walk back to his desk when he felt an uncanny presence behind him. Turning around, he saw Sebastian with fire in his eyes.

"Young Master, it has gotten quite late, and I simply can not whip up another dessert for you in such a span of time. But however…surly you recall what you had said to me in the town…regarding an episode with the insolent little boy, and his poor doting mother?

Ciel started to step away, but the chair was in the way. He had never suspected Sebastian to become angry at him, because after all…Ciel did anything he wanted.

"No…I did not say…" The boy paused and thought back to his previous recollection.

"Sebastian…if I were to ever behave as atrocious as that child had…please I beg of you…take care of the situation."

Shaking his head, and having his eye widen with terror, Sebastian grasped the little Earl firmly by his arm, sat down on the chair, and brought the child over his lap. Taking down his shorts, and his underclothing, the boy's backside was bared. Sebastian removed his glove, and it was dropped to the floor. The boy struggled to be let free, but Sebastian of course would not let him up.

"Try as you may Young Master…but I was given a command that I must fulfill. You have left me with very little choice but to carry on in this most deserving manner." It was at that moment that Sebastian raised his hand, and let it fall soundly on the child's exposed bottom. He jolted with surprise as Sebastian's bare hand hit his flesh.

Ciel had not been punished in this way since he was a very small boy, and that had been administered by Tanaka when he chased the family dog around and pulled its tail. His father was not around at the moment, but was most upset by his son's behavior when he heard about it later.

When another smack fell, Ciel tried very hard to brave it, and not let himself cry. Sebastian grinned, and it would be soon the time for tears to fall. He spanked the boy with a continual rhythm, alternating on the child's buttocks, and on the backs of his thighs, marking each spot uncomfortable. By the fifth smack, Ciel had started to cry, and as the tears streamed down his face, he kicked his legs in a very un-Lordly manner. The butler applied a few more slaps, and then was done. Carefully letting the child up and off his lap, he adjusted the boy's outfit, and made Ciel face him. The child spoke up amongst the sobs.

"Sebastian…that…that wasn't rational! You didn't have a right to…" He was hushed by the butler putting a finger to his lips.

"If I evoke my Young Master…you gave me an order…and I am bound to the contract to obey. Now come…let me dry your tears…your company should be here at any moment." He slipped on his glove, wiped the child's runny nose, and the two prepared for Uncle Clause.
Phantomhive Frolics: Chapter One

Little frolics and journeys of the little Lord Phantomhive.

(Non-Yaoi...I don't see that type of relationship with Ciel and Sebastian like that. I know this Anime is nothing but a pilot for Yaoi, but...sigh, I just like the normalcy of a child and his butler.)

*Kedgeree is a dish consisting of cooked, flaked fish (sometimes smoked haddock), boiled rice, parsley, hard-boiled eggs, curry powder, butter or cream and occasionally sultanas. This delightful bit of facts is from Wikipedia.
